Adela's Story

Adela

I am Adela Masumbuko Venace, I was born on 11/11/1991. I am a last born among 6 children where 4 died and we are two living.

So I was born at Ujiji in Kigoma Tanzania. My father was drunkard so my mother was the one who was incharge of our house, starting from feeding,  clothes and everything.

At 2004 when I was standard 6 my father said I can't be both poor and not having enough children so he married another woman of who he left with to another place where we had no communication with him and we didn't know where he was, he left us with zero support from him, so mom took care of all our needs. In 2005 I finished my primary education and I was selected to join my secondary education.  Life was really hard my mother. She was doing small business then she has to support our studies and our living.  So in  February 2016 our school headmaster said whoever has not payed the  school fees should not attend class until pays. So I was one among students who was chased.

I stayed a month without attending school then my school friend came to visit and told me there's a western country person who support children's who are poor and coming from extreme poor families and has  no father with their studies so since you don't have father and if you're ready I can take you there. So on 16th February 2006 she took me to helper trust organization, then they agreed to take me as one of their supporting students.

So from then helper organization paid everything tlhing concerning my studies and hospital bills when I'm sick, when I reached form three, our senior students (form four students) a class of 100 students only one student passed to advanced level so I went back to helper and ask them to shift me to private seminary school where the school fees is bigger compared to where I was and I can better education, helper agreed and then I was shifted to Mount Carmel girls secondary school. I did my form four exam and passed with division one to my advance education. I was then selected to Longido high school pursuing Physics, Chemistry and Biology then i did my advanced level exam and selected to join St John's University of Tanzania pursuing Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

I finished my degree studies in 2017 and I was selected to do my internship at Muhimbili National hospital for one year.

In 2018 I did my interview to join Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac institute as employee,  I passed interview and from 2019 to now I have been working at Pediatric ICU of babies who undergo open heart surgery.

And on November this year I was appointed to be Pediatric ICU ward incharge. So in all that journey from Secondary to degree helper sponsored my studies.  Honest speaking if is not helper I wouldn't not make it, my mother couldn't afford at all paying for my school expenses. I was raised in family that we only had one meal per day.

I have known helper and stay under helper organization for 15 years now.

Whatever happens I thank God and say God has raised me from very down and now I'm sitting with peoples with power. I'm now working in best government hospital in Tanzania. And this is all thanks to helper.

Till now helper didn't ask me to return any thing concerning my studies and hospital fare they paid. I now do even small thing to help other kids who are sponsored by helper to accomplish their goals. That's my story coming from a very poor family with one meal per day, lost hope to study helper trust organization under Andy Blake catch my hands and now I am a Open heart Surgery Pediatric ICU ward incharge.

I thank God for him, I thank people who helped us through helper and every one in helper trust organization. Also I request more people to continue sponsor helper so us other children who lost hope can be helped and we produce more people like me today.

Thanks.

Adela Venace.
